Sometimes it feels like no matter what I do, when I look in
the mirror I just look dried up and older then I really am. On a deeper note,
it’s not just about looks. It’s also about how it feels when my skin is dry. I
am not sure if having dry skin is not as good as than having oily skin or vice
versa, on average, people with dry skin tend have less blemishes and breakouts
than someone with oily skin. But, we do
tend to look a little bit older when our skin is dry. Here are some beneficial tips
for your dry skin.
Don’t Use Hot Water
While the rest of the body feels great, your skin suffers
under the heat. Hot water can stripe your body of its natural oils that work as
a barrier on our skin. This barrier is super important because it helps to trap
that much needed moisture which keeps our skin hydrated, soft and smooth. If
you can, keep away from a hot shower and take a nice warm one as an alternative.
And while we all love to linger in the tub, it’s best to enter and out quickly
to avoid the drying of our skin. Limit yourself to 5 to 10 minutes maximum.
When you take your shower, then gently pat your skin dry, don’t rub and
immediately apply your facial and body moisturizers.
Wear Sunscreen
The harm caused by
the UVA and UVB rays not only burns our skin, but also throw in to aging. The signs of aging are not attractive and
include fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots, skin roughness and dryness. So it’s
essential to wear sunscreen products year round, not just in the summer. You
must contain a protective moisturizer with wide-spectrum sunscreen into your
regimen for maximum daily protection against the sun’s rays and to help
alleviate dryness.
Drink Clean Water
Not only moisturized on the outside, remember it’s also
important to moisturize on the inside. Drinking water all over the day not only
keeps your body, as well as your skin hydrated.
Face Wash
One of the best ways to clean your skin is gram flour. Just mix
up it with a little milk in the winter or with water in summer and use that to
wash your face. This cleanses your skin completely with no side effects.
Moisturize after this.
Face Scrub
Grind whole green gram in a grinder till it turns into a
coarse powder. You have to check and stop before it turns into fine powder.
This can be stored for a month without problems. Just mix up it with a little
water and use it to cleanse and scrub your face gently. This powder is safe and
can be used all over the face as well as the under eye area. It’s a great way
to get rid of dead skin cells. Moisturize after this.
Face Pack
It doesn’t matter what type of oatmeal you have at home,
just take a bit and grind it to get a fine powder. Mix up this with a little
honey and some milk or yogurt and viola. You have a superb face pack ready,
which is great for your dry skin. You can also applied to your face and neck
and kept on for 10-15 minutes. Clean off gently with water with round motions
to give the skin a light massage also. Moisturize after this.
Cleansing
One of the best way to take care of your dry skin is cleansing. Use a creamy cleanser all over your face. The cleanser will help you to remove your make-up and dirt from your skins surface. Leave it for a few minutes. If you desired to splash some cool water on your face. This will help you to remove any excess cleanser. It also improves your blood circulation in your face.
Toning
Toning is one of the most useful routine for your dry skin. Avoid using toner, if you have extremely dry skin. For this you can choose a mild alcohol-free toner. Apply the toner all over your face with a cotton wool pad and be careful to avoid the delicate eye area.
Moisturize
Moisturizing is the most important step for your dry skin care routine. Apply a thick creamy moisturizer and massage it with your fingertip round your face. It leaves a protective film on your face.
